but let’s watch a film and then meet online via Zoom for a lively discussion.
May’s film is “Au Galop” (“In a Rush”), a comedy-drama written, directed by and starring
Louis-Do de Lencquesaing.
To participate in the online Zoom discussion, RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by 4 pm Friday, May 22.
Description: Actor-turned-director Louis-Do de Lencquesaing’s first feature centers on divorced writer Paul, struggling in his relationships with student daughter Camille, mother Mina, and potential partner Ada. However, Ada has complications of her own; she lives with her partner and young daughter. As her relationship with Paul develops, she must make a choice. A leisurely paced family drama in which each character has their own subplot of romantic difficulties, the film is elegantly crafted, with a keen eye for the nuances of the various relationships, and marks an assured debut.
We’ll be discussing “Ce qui nous lie” (“Back to Burgundy”), which is available on amazon.com.
The film is free for Amazon Prime members or $1.99 to $2.99 to rent.
