Originally, the event was a pagan celebration of fertility. It later evolved into a Christian holiday.
In recent years, it has lost much of its religious focus. Now, La chandeleur celebrations are intertwined with the delicious French tradition: le goûter.
Crêpes are round and golden like the sun! Come enjoy a Parisian-style crêpe made by a professional. If you want to try to make your own crêpe, we'll also have another crepière station set-up too.
The Sacramento chandeleur will take place to the joy of all "gourmands" Friday, February 17 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the Alliance. Crêpes, delicious toppings, and good company are the perfect ingredients to end the week and celebrate La chandeleur.
Crêpes by Catherine of Catherine's Crêperie.
