In honor of la Journée internationale de la Francophonie 2023, the Délégation du Québec à Boston is offering Alliance Française members in the US a chance to see Au revoir le bonheur (Goodbye Happiness) for free on March 20, 2023.
Au revoir le bonheur est une comédie mettant en scène quatre frères qui promettent, lors des funérailles de leur père, de mettre leurs différends de côté pour lui rendre un dernier hommage. Les quatre frères que tout oppose, leurs femmes et leurs nombreux enfants se rendent à la maison d’été, aux Îles de la Madeleine, pour offrir leurs derniers adieux et répandre les cendres de cet homme qui a été si important pour chacun d’eux. Lorsque Nicolas, le plus jeune frère, perd l’urne contenant les cendres de leur père, les conflits commencent.
Goodbye Happiness is a quirky comedy following four brothers, very much at odds with each other, who must congregate for one final week at their summer house in the Magdalen Islands to commemorate the passing of their beloved father. As they bid their final goodbyes, the four brothers revisit their past joys and hardships as each one of them struggles to give meaning to their very different lives.
